Classroom Session - Online Classroom

Lecture: Introduction to Trail Running: Frontcountry

Classroom Session - Online Classroom

Web conference will be held from 7:00-8:00pm. Learn how to get started with trail running: we'll cover how this course works plus we will talk gear, clothing, route selection, safety, and more.

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

Are you interested in learning more about trail running? Or interested in brushing up on other outdoor skills? Come join us as we chat about getting feet to trails and moving a little faster!

Due to current events, this years is going to feature a different curriculum and webinar-based session style, allowing for runs at a future date as conditions allow. Topics for talks include:

-Introduction to trail running and trail running in the Mountaineers + finding trails in your neighborhood (the basics to get you out your front door)
-Gear
-Use of Gaia/Caltopo + a few other apps (Trailforks, Mountain Project, etc...)
-Stretching/yoga + recovery that I use (come prepared to stretch... or watch someone stretch, for an hour. And trust me - I have HUNDREDS of stretches!)

And we're hoping to also cater to whatever else you're interested in! Drop a note below or join up and write the instructors. Get ready to try and hopefully learn something new - getting closer to the outdoors however we can. :)

Zoom web conference will be held from 7-8pm PST. We suggest joining a little early to get oriented.

Zoom link and information to join this session will be sent by email prior to the web conference for greater security.

Basic plan: I am thinking we would keep the talk this Thursday, as folks have already slotted out time in their calendar for it. Downside is that it's going to be a little messy, but if this is what works best for you, we'll (I'll - not signing up other people as that's rude) make it happen. For the other seminars, I'm thinking we either keep them on Thursdays or shift them to Mondays and have them every other week. I can commit to at least three weeks, speaking for myself.

Please bear with us as we work out the kinks and thank you for being along for the ride! ... or is that run? ;)
