Lake Serene

Lake Serene is a strenuous, 7.2 mile round trip day hike with 1,920 feet of elevation gain. The trail heads up thickly forested slopes past Bridal Veil Falls to a secluded lake. From the lake, Philadelphia Mountain is a nice winter to early spring scramble.

GETTING THERE

Drive SR-2 to 7 miles east of Gold Bar. Just before a large bridge over the Skykomish River, turn right onto Mount Index Road. Follow the signs to Lake Serene Trailhead (600 ft).

Hike the Lake Serene Trail 3.6 miles to the lake.

Bridal Veil Falls (1,450 ft)

4.4 miles round trip, 850 feet of elevation gain

Hie the Lake Serene Trail 2.2 miles to Bridal Veil Falls.

Philadelphia Mountain (4,262 ft)

10.5 miles round trip, 3,660 feet of elevation gain, Winter Scramble

A good winter to early spring scramble. From Lake Serene head easterly following the ridge to the summit of Philadelphia Mountain. It's 1,740 feet of elevation gain from Lake Serene.
