Freedom10 Kickoff Party

On Monday, September 23 we’ll gather at the REI Seattle Flagship store from 5-8pm for The Mountaineers official Kickoff Party. At the kickoff, you’ll get a first look at Freedom of the Hills 10th edition, meet with contributors and partners from REI and Seattle Mountain Rescue, and engage in “Freedom-themed” activities, challenges, and trivia. Topics will include: Knots & Ropes, Climbing Self Rescue, Avalanche Preparedness, Navigation, Mountain Weather, Climate Change Impacts, and Mountain Rescue.

For each activity, you’ll receive a stamp in your Freedom10-themed Activity Passport, which can be turned in to win prizes from The Mountaineers and REI Co-op. 

Tickets include food from Paella House and beverages from our sponsors. Copies of the 10th Edition will be available for sale at REI!

Mountaineering: The Freedom of the Hills is the most significant guidebook ever published.
