Ever dreamed of cycling the Pacific Coast, but don’t know where to start?
Join us for Mountaineers Books’ next live web event, February 15th, “Cycling the Pacific Coast,” featuring cycling expert Bill Thorness, author of the new book Cycling the Pacific Coast: The Complete Guide from Canada to Mexico.
The Pacific Coast bicycle route runs the length of the West Coast, from Vancouver, British Columbia, nearly 2000 miles to the Mexico border. Travel with Bill as he discovers crashing surf, rocky headlands, epic coastal climbs, deep forests, wide sand beaches, seaside burgs and vibrant cities. You will soon wish you were on your bike doing the same!
Bill will provide an overview of the trail, and provide helpful tips for anyone planning this epic adventure. In this presentation he will address:
- Logistics for key route access points
- Trip planning, packing, and safety advice
- Can’t miss major sites along the way (and kitschy local attractions too!)
- Suggested itineraries and descriptions designed to complement the ACA route maps
This event is presented in partnership with Cascade Bicycle Club.
