Winter Scramble - Norse Peak

We enjoyed a sociable pace to the summit. We encountered steady snow on the trail approximately elevation 5,800'. The weather was clear, and the wind was brisk. All trip members did great.

  • The trail was mostly clear of obstacles, except for one minor crossing of a down log. We encountered steady snow on the trail at about 5,800'. The snow base was still thin in some places, but shin deep in other drifts or depositional areas. There was a little bit of post-holing, but the boot track was mostly top of the ankle deep.
