Winter Scramble - McDonald Mountain

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Some snow on the road.  Snowshoes could have been used, but would have been taken off & on several times.

Would be a nice trip when the snow level is very low, so that you could utilize snowshoes more.  Also would be better on a nicer day.  Seems like there could be views from various points on the road between the radio tower and true summit, but we were in the cloud all day so saw nothing.  St

Sticking to the roads with no shortcuts it was 13 miles and 3400' elevation gain round trip to the true summit at 3570'.
