The Tooth/South Face

Sunday April 26,2015. The summer trail was in good condition to Source Lake. From there we followed a boot track up "No Fog" to "Great Scott Bowl". The tracks ended at the bottom of the bowl so we broke trail up the the notch south of Pineapple pass. Snowshoes might have been helpful going up, but going down it was easy to either follow our boot track or plunge step down the steep sections. The short scramble section up to the base of the climb at pineapple pass was covered in several inches of snow and ice, so we turned around here. This snow was the result of a storm that occurred for a few days before our climb. I had scouted out the approach a week earlier on the afternoon of 4/18/15 and found no snow on the scramble up to pineapple pass or on the first two pitches of the climb. I suspect the snow to be gone after a few days of rain and sunshine.
