Sea Kayak - Whidbey Island West Shore

Fun trip with a good group, along a interesting stretch of coastline.

  • Wind around 7 kts the first haft of the day, rising to 10-13 the second half, direction varied from on the beam to straight ahead to following seas at the end

Due to predicted wind, we paddled north to south, having lunch at a nice pavilion at Joseph Whidbey State Park. We had some wind to make things interesting, everyone handled it well and the last few miles with the wind and current helping us were fun. We lucked out by staying in the blue sky bubble while clouds/rain were surrounding us on most sides.
