Mount Forgotten

Mount Forgotten

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

The trip listing, ratings, and route description that I used for this trip were both old and wrong. The trail head is not at the end of the Perry creek road but is now relocated to the Mt Dickerman trailhead parking lot adding about 1.5 miles each direction. The existing listing asserts 10 miles round trip. WTA asserts 14 miles round trip. One group GPS claimed just under 13 miles and just over 4500 ft of elevtation gain including the descent below Forgotton Meadow and back up.

We encountered snow at atout 5000 ft. Forgotten meadow was partially snow covered with snow. The descent to the traverse bootpath was wet but snow free. The traversing bootpath is also snow free and still as brushy as ever. The meadow to the east of Forgotten is still snow covered. The ascent gully is partial snow and wet loose rock. We used helmets both down and back up both the gully and the steep descent from Forgotten Meadow.
