Mount Ellinor

March 1, 2015 conditioner up Mt. Ellinor via the summer trail. Hit packed snow on trail just before the junction with the winter route. Snow on trail was hard and icy in places, so microspikes were used by most participants. Used traction all the way to summit, in spite of many bare spots and rocks. Traction definitely needed on final summit stretch. Several new inches of snow on north slope of summit, was slick descending. Snow on lower trail was softer on the descent. Good chilly weather, clouds began to roll in late morning. Excellent trip, everyone made the summit.
