Trip Report

Kangaroo Temple/North Face

06/27/2015 A group of 8 left the hairpin at 6am. The first part of the trail is washed out by last year's mud slide before the first boulder field. There was a little bush wacking but not too bad. After that the approach is straight-forward as usual. There is no snow left. We got to the base of the climb at 9. Got everyone to the summit around noon. We encountered another party of 4 on our rappel, which is rare for this route. So I saddle bagged the rope on rappel to avoid throwing rope on them which worked very well. The descent was very hot on the southwest facing ridge. We stopped at the pond below Kangaroo Pass and dipped our feet in the water. It felt so good. Everyone got back to the car at 5.
