Trip Report
Intermediate Snowshoe - Mount St. Helens/Worm Flows
2am departure from the car park, perfect weather and took a route to the crater edge to the east of the mail trail. It was extremely steep but had more consistent elevation gain. Snow was mixed, soft, icey, deep and crusty. Crampons needed, snowshoes suggested to prevent post holeing in some locations.

Took a route to the crater rim east of the main trail once leaving the trees which gave more consistent elevation gain and firmer snow. Crampons highly recommended. Spring Snow conditions following a warm week.
took almost as long down as up due to softening snow and some areas of post holeing so we travelled slowly and careful.
