Trip Report

Hex Mountain

Snow conditions were a mix of slushy snow and ice. Parts of the old trail were thick with water ice, but it could usually be avoided. Summit was largely bare, with a crown of snow on its lower portions. The large clearcut below the final ridge was only partially snow-covered, with many stumps and branches barely covered. Round trip was about 6 hours, with about 8 miles distance and 2800 gain.
