January 9th Trip for new, potential, and experienced instructors for the Seattle Basic Snowshoe Course Field trip. With the 9 am planned arrival at Steven's, we ran into heavy traffic right out of Monroe. While the usual lot for parking up by the Stevens Lodge was being flagged as full- all vehicles made it past, and had ample parking near the trailhead- Yay!
Kirk Peterson and Jimmy Jet worked through an overview of the day, and teaching points on a beautiful day. Temps were in the mid 20s to 30+ degrees. This year, we have plenty of snow on the track, and on this day to venture through the trees, and practice steps- and falling.
After covering the main points, we reached the great lunch knoll with the sun shining, and modest breeze to consume our lunches, and then head down. Heading out before the skiers-
