Seattle Basic Snowshoe Field Trip, January 18: Road closures along Highway 2 forced the cancellation of this trip. The closures were not due to snow but rather due to high winds in the lowlands that downed trees and power lines, causing closures in at least three places ranging from Sultan to Gold Bar. Our reports indicate the road was closed from about 6:30am to about 9:00am, though at the time the reports we were getting suggested the road would remain closed even longer.
