Grace Lakes

December 20, 2014. The temperature was just below freezing, at around 30 F in the parking lot. Light snow was falling. The snow depth varied between 10 and 18 inches on the track up to the Mountaineers lodge. The snow coverage remained sparse most of the way up, with considerable brush, logs, and exposed creeks to negotiate. The usual well defined cat track was not there, and we had to navigate on the way up to ensure we are on the right path. At the first Grace Lake the snow depth was deeper, but there was still much exposed brush in places.
