Global Adventure - Day Hiking, Camping, and Fossil Sighting in Canada's Yoho National Park

The Burgess Shale (located inside Yoho National Park) is perhaps the most famous fossil bed in the world. Access is tightly restricted, but can be arranged through Parks Canada. Yoho National Park also hosts incredibly gorgeous hiking. We spent two days hiking and two days fossil sighting.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Yoho National Park is either a long (10-12 hour) drive from Seattle or a two and a half hour drive from the Calgary airport. Most participants chose to drive and to stretch the drive out over 2, 3, or more days. There is a ton of gorgeous terrain to explore between Seattle and Yoho.

Here is a link to a lengthy report, complete with some gorgeous photographs.
