Foss Peak/Unicorn Creek

We started at the Bench Lake TH, and after a few navigation errors reached the basin below Unicorn. Most of us went up to the saddle between Unicorn and the unnamed peak to the west and around to the ridge leading to Boundary Peak, but the cornices on that ridge led us not to attempt Boundary. Cornices on the ridge to Foss were also an issue, but we were able to stay far enough west of the ridge to avoid them. It was a glorious day, and much was learned by the 7 students on the trip. The conditions were such that the technical rating was at least 3 rather than 2.
