Deception Pass

Deception Pass 9/6/2014 - Circumnavigation of Deception and Pass Islands: Launched on decreasing Flood from Bowman Bay - Flood is not significant at Deception Island. Went through main Deception Pass channel at 2.6 F (little turbulance)- rounded Pass Is. -drifted up to Strawberry Is. for break - returned to Pass Is. E end at "slack" - note as main channel started to Ebb - Canoe Pass Flood increased for a while before turning to ebb - we eddy hopped into Canoe Pass - played until 4pm as ebb increased to 5.6 kt. Our group stayed together. Another group of kayakers were Canoe Pass - use a buddy system while playing - current prediction DeepZoom.com worked well, weather Sunny, no wind - boat traffic was a hazard
