Day Hike - Thorp Lake & Lookout Loop
Hike through forest to a lovely lake and up to the Thorp Mountain Lookout with amazing views!

Trail was in good shape. A few downed trees to go over or under. Brush is encroaching the trail and was very wet in the morning when we started out, so will get your legs/pants wet.
Lake is beautiful, but has a lot of reeds near the shore, so not the best swimming lake.
Lots of campsites near lake would be good for backpacking.
Driving: The forest service roads leading to the trailhead are not well marked, but Google maps worked well. No cell service at the trailhead.
No parking permit needed, but very limited parking (only room for maybe 5 cars).
We were the only group on that trail the entire day, so good time of year to go.
Most of the flowers were gone, but we did see one lupine and two paintbrush, as well as a few purple asters and pearly everlasting.
Copious amounts of both huckleberries and blueberries, most a bit past prime, but still ample to snack on along the way.
