Day Hike - Mount Zion

On May 26, 2022, 8 of us found the route snow-free, including the trail over to the view point that is .6 miles from the summit. The predicted rain held off, and we got The View.

    We found the road route to be simpler than the description in Romano's Olympic Day Hiking guide; turn left at Lords Lake and thereafter stay right.  The trail tread was in excellent shape; a little brushing of salal would help in wetter conditions. Trilliums were out. The abundant rhododendrons will likely be late this year because of the spring cold weather.
