Day Hike - Millersylvania State Park

Cold weather and gray skies, but excellent company!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • All trails were in good shape with no standing water. Use caution on wet boardwalks.

Our group of five met just after the park opened and hiked clockwise from/to the boat launch parking lot on the outer perimeter trails, about 4.5 miles and 200' gain. The sky was gray and foggy and the temps were on the chillier side, but we enjoyed each other's company and worked up a sweat with a 2.5+ mph pace. With the recent rains we were surprised to find no standing water on the trails, especially near the Environmental Learning Center. Kudos to park staff for their excellent work!
