Day Hike - Margaret's Way
Near gale winds (>15 mph, my cutoff for acceptable risk) forecasted for 10 a.m. when we would be nearing Margaret's Way highpoint, made it prudent to reschedule for 12/17/24. I used this as an opportunity to introduce the Beaufort Scale and what went into making the decision so everyone on the hike could learn from it.

Never left the comfort of home, but walking my dog (who would have been our mascot) I knew in my heart I made the right decision. SO frigging HARD to cancel something you're really looking forward to.
Rescheduled for Tuesday, 12/17 albeit with completely different people, I'm sure. Good topic for a potential future Outdoor Leadership Seminar: How to face disappointment with a cheerful attitude.
