Day Hike - Margaret's Way

A wonderful wintry hike to Margaret's Way with a possible add-on to Debbie's View, netting 6.5 miles and 1500' gain. Join me and my dog Ajax, a well-trained Labraheeler, rain or shine.

  • Mileage: 6.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,500 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 1,730 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph up, 2.5 down

Our primary destination will be Margaret's Way with a potential add-on to Debbie's View (.7 miles) if the weather suggests we might see Rainier and hikers are warm enough and comfortable doing so. I can drive one additional person if needed but I will have my dog with me. Be sure to have layers, trekking poles, gaiters, a warm beverage, and rain gear if the weather calls for it. Microspikes may also help if it's icy.

I will meet everyone at 8:45 a.m. at the Margaret's Way trailhead on the west side of Squak Mountain, ready for introductions at  9 a.m. For trip information, please see https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/margarets-way. Please arrange carpooling per Mountaineers guidelines.
