Trip Report
Day Hike - Little Bandera Mountain
We were 6 in all for this trip. I listed it as a slow pace. My participants seemed happy with that. We met at 7:30 and were on the route by 7:45. We had gorgeous weather. Sunny the whole day. View of Rainier popped out about half way up and we were happy. The group moved along quickly and steadily even in the steep terrain.

The trail was bare and dry all the way to the last 500 ft. Then we encountered a few snow patches, but did not use microspikes. The last 1000 ft has many boulders that can be challenging on the descent.
This shows are group starting the down the ridge.
The NW Forest Pass is needed for parking at Ira Spring Trailhead. There was plenty of parking at 7:30 AM, but crowded when we left. The last 3 miles after you exit I-90 had some potholes to watch, it is a gravel road.
In all we did 3,000 ft gain. We stopped at Little Bandera did not proceed to Bandera Mountain as the trail is not as defined. We were moving 5 hr 5 min. The whole trip was about 5.75 hr. In all it was a very enjoyable day.
