Day Hike - Little Bandera Mountain

Trip

Day Hike - Little Bandera Mountain

This is a steep hike with gorgeous views of McClellan's Butte and then Mt. Rainier. We will go at a slow, steady pace.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,015 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,050 ft
  • Pace: slow, 1.5 mph

This trip is for those who want a more leisurely pace. Wear sturdy boots, as there will possibly be snow near the summit of Little Bandera. Sections of the ascent are strenuous with large rocks, but we will rest if needed. If the group wants to go further to the main summit of Bandera, that is a possibility depending on conditions and weather.

I will send a letter to all closer to the hike date about weather and conditions. Feel free to reach out with questions by email or text.

We will meet at the Ira Spring Trailhead at 7:30 AM, ready to go. If you need extra time to get ready, arrive earlier.

Northwest Forest Pass is required, carpooling encouraged. The last three+ miles on Mason Lake Road can be very bumpy and take time.
