Day Hike - Josephine Lake

Once you get past the ski runs and power lines, travel along the PCT to charming Josephine Lake. Find a comfortable spot at the lake to eat your lunch and enjoy the view.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Access the PCT trailhead at Stevens Pass ski resort on south side of Highway 2. At the east side of the resort, you'll see a large paved parking lot. The PCT trailhead is clearly marked. Start your trip here. The first part of the trail will wind through the open terrain of the ski runs and lift towers, you'll also be under multiple power lines for awhile. Eventually you'll leave civilization and enter forest. The PCT is well maintained and easy walking most of the way to the lake. There are only a few short steeper sections. First you'll pass  by the small Lake Susan Jane. Keep going, Josephine is more enjoyable.

The weather was sunny, warm and breezy. Overall a very enjoyable trip. We saw several PCT thru hikers and several other day hikers. We were hiking mid-week so the number of other hikers was small. On weekends you'll probably see quite few more.
