Day Hike - Hurricane Hill

Summer hike at Hurricane ridge

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail is a wide paved trail the whole way. It is fairly wide to accommodate a lot of of visitors. It is accessible but a bit of s steep grade in places. On this day, it was sunny but there were a lot of mosquitoes.

Parking at the trail head is limited to about 30 spots which were almost all full upon our arrival at around 9 am. There is another parking area less close,  which has more spots and a bathroom.  This adds about 1/2 mile each way to your hike. And there is also parking at the Hurricane ridge visitor center about 1.3 miles from the trailhead.

We spotted some flowers blooming: White-flowered Rhododendron, Alaska bellflower and  many more. The sky was blue and the peaks of the Olympics were cloud free and sporting a little bit of snow.

Our leaders Dave and Dave were friendly and helpful.
