Road conditions great-- parking lot directly off the canyon highway. Getting to the trailhead from the parking lot requires crossing the highway so be careful. Hike is very steep the whole way, with very coarse loose soil, poor traction with lots of potential for slips and falls. No water available on route. We encountered one very cranky rattlesnake along the trail, along with a gopher snake near the parking lot.
Beautiful views! Stuart range was in full view to the north past the canyon. Wildflower blooms near the top were amazing.
