CHS 1 Hike - Lake Serene

What started out as a rainy morning, turned sunny and lovely at the Lake. Be sure to go early as the parking lot and trail become packed, for good reason. This hike remains one of my favorite every year.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Quite a lot of snow melt, so muddy and lots of running water on the trail.  Some snow left around the lake and last .2 of the ascent.  

Trip was 7.2 miles with about 2,000 foot gain.  Us strong group of 12 women conquered all of the steps and rocks!  Beautiful lunch spot overlooking still frozen lake and avalanches across the way.  Delightful day!
