Burroughs Mountain
Most of the snow along the Burroughs trail is gone. A couple of lengthy patches remain with a good boot track, go slow, wear lug-soled boots, use poles.

This was a private trip on a gorgeous day at Sunrise! Started hiking the Sourdough trail at 8:00 so it was a bit chilly, but not cold. Our early start avoided the crowd. The trail is in excellent shape and it was easy to get across the remaining snow. We used spikes for extra security, but they really were not needed. No bugs, a stiff breeze on 1st and 2nd Burroughs probably blew them away, but no bugs on 3rd Burroughs with only a soft breeze. We looped back to Sunrise on the Burroughs Loop trail past Shadow Lake. It's worth doing - fewer people and views of the Emmons Glacier were spectacular! Also, the lush, flower filled alpine meadows below Sunrise were a beautiful, refreshing change from the open rocky slopes of Burroughs.
