Trip Report

Basic Glacier Climb - Mount Baker/Easton Glacier

Lovely Climb with lovely people

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Most notable to someone reading this is streams over Park Butte trail are swollen.  Climb day was hot and there's a lot of snow starting below first camp.  We did not find a good crossing (middle stream) so just waded in boots across on the descent.  If you're going soon the approach may be troublesome.

Many climbing teams and ski teams on the mountain.  You may need to wait for teams to pass on the steep sections as we did.  We camped at top of tree line and all-in-all did good time.  Left camp at 3AM and returned before 3PM. Spent extra time on the summit soaking up sun and talking with others.  We nailed the weather.  Super lovely.  Super team.
