Austin Pass (winter)

9am leave parking lot. 2 feet of new snow Thursday & Friday. Quit snowing around 10am Saturday. Snowshoed up to Austin Pass with big packs. Sunshine and clear Saturday. Everyone pitched tents and made snow caves 1/4 mile SE of Austin Pass.Clear sky with full moon for night hike to Artist Point. Cold night. Packed up Sunday (wind picking up) and headed out. 5 successful snow caves. Everyone did a good job winter camping. Great group in all ways.
