Trail is in great shape to the base of the peak. A climbers trail (in and out) was followed to the summit.
We started at 6:45am from Kautz Creek. The day was sunny and moderately warm and mildly smokey from the forest fires. Despite earlier trip reports in August, there was many places to refill water along the route.
The trail peters out as you approach the south shoulder of Pyramid but there is a faint path that comes and goes if you stay close to the crest. We wore helmets for the descent in case of rock fall by the party but there was very little rock fall, none of it endangering the party.
We were back at the cars at 4:15pm.
It should be noted the trip listing is incorrect. It is over 15 miles round trip and 5,000' of gain overall (you gain some coming back out as well).
