On Saturday, Max, Magda and I climbed Mount mastiff and Mount Howard as a loop trip in about 9hour C2c
This trip involves some beautiful rock scrambling on a ridge run to Mourn Howard, stellar 360 views of Glacier, Rainier and Sloan and cascades at Mount Mastiff
The trail turn off from mastiff to Nason ridge is evident, I'm sure you can't miss it
We dropped down from Mastiff into some trees and then on boulder, then bushwhacked a bit to the saddle between the peaks
Took the snow ridge onto Howard and enjoyed the summit as we watched the clouds roll in
Plunge stepped the snow and hopped on to boulders for a while, then bushwhacked again towards crescent lake and catching on to Nason ridge
From there the trail to TH was swampy at places, but some elevation gain was still left
The place was filled with bugs and DEET was the only ingredient we didn't carry, which is something everyone regretted
Great day nevertheless and was a good day to consciously practice social distancing in the mountains
