Alpine Scramble - Mount Hoquiam
The trip was planned as a rock (and brush!) scramble to Mt. Hoquiam. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 cars on the trip had flat tires about 10 miles from the start. Since the road does continue to deteriorate we elected to not proceed on the "donut" spares and cancelled the trip. Two people in the third card however did continue with the planned route.

- Road rough but passable
As noted in the summary, we did cancel the trip following flat tires on 2 of the 3 cars. Even after it deteriorates, the eastern half of the loop of FS2270 is "rough but passable". On this trip we just got unlucky on even the good part of the road, which is the portion that parallels Lake Wynoochee.
On another trip, we flatted on this same stretch of road, but after we had completed the scramble. Two others on today's trip reported also having had a flat on this road.
Anyway, good case for throwing in a full-sized spare on extended forest service road jaunts.
