Alpine Scramble - Mount Forgotten

6 of us climbed Mt. Forgotten on 8/27/16. It was a very pleasant trip, although too cloudy for much in the way of views.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • We parked in a parking area on the NE side of the Mt. Loop Rd. about 100 yards west of the blocked Perry Creek road.  Hiking the blocked road is currently quicker than hiking the connector trail from the Mt. Dickerman TH, even though there were several downed trees to climb over and/or crawl under.  There are a few other trees across the upper part of the trail to Forgotten Meadows; otherwise the route conditions are fine.

This trip went very smoothly.  It was warm and humid for a few hours but then it got cloudier and sometimes breezier.  By the time we got to Forgotten Meadows, the views were mostly gone.  The berries were fairly abundant, not at maximum sweetness, but quite delicious for those who don't mind them being a bit tart.
