Alpine Scramble - Labyrinth Mountain

Participants decided to take the west route. An exciting and fun deviation from the standard route.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

Road was open and brush cut back.  Snow free on switchback, some snow around lake and partway up basin, ridgeline snow free.   Crew decided to take west route.  From west campsites gained the SW ridge and followed climber's trail (goat trail) to last saddle to the east.  Had to descend north from last saddle then east and turned south up a gentle gully back to ridge line and on to true summit.  All but one participant was a climber.  Went slow and was safe.  Weather forecast next seven days is sunny and near 80.  Most snow should melt away soon.
