7:00 AM met at Mowich Lake campground.
7:15 AM started hiking; approached via the Spray Park Trail
Use crampons for 1 section of snow getting to Echo Rock. Scrambled Echo Rock. We arrived at the summit of Echo Rock at about 11:50 AM and spent 30 minutes there.
We put on crampons again for a steep section of snow on the way to Observation Rock. This steeper section of snow was soft at the bottom and firmer by midway up and near the top.
2 PM arrived at the summit of Observation Rock and spent about 30 minutes here.
We were able to see a descent route that skipped the steeper section of snow we had ascended, so took that route and did not need crampons for the descent.
We took a break to refill water bottles where there was a stream fed by melting snow.
6:15 PM arrived at Mowich Lake CG via Knapsack Pass. We traveled on snow getting over Knapsack Pass, but none of it required crampons or ice axes.
