Glendale Forest
A new urban park south of Seattle in the Glendale's North Highline neighborhood that was acquired in 2020. The park encompasses a wooded ravine with a stream flowing north toward the Duwamish River. Partnering with King County Parks and Recreation, WTA (Washington Trails Association) is developing this green space into a park with new trails.
Getting There
The park is located at the intersection of S 104th St & 8th Ave S in Burien. Because this is a local park designed to serve nearby residents, there is no parking lot. Parking is available along nearby streets, but please be considerate of residents and do not block their driveways.
On the Trail
This natural, undeveloped area is within walking distance of many homes, apartments, schools, and places of worship. This site is intended to serve the local park needs of the Glendale neighborhood rather than providing a larger regional destination for recreation. King County Parks is working with several partners to remove debris and invasive vegetation like English ivy and Himalayan blackberry, so that native plants and trees can thrive. Soon, there will be also a new walking trail through the forest. Visit King County's Glendale Forest web page for more information.
