Cispus River: FR28 Bridge to Copper Canyon Creek

Trip

Whitewater Packraft - Cispus River: Twin Cedars to Copper Canyon Creek

This is the class III reach of the Cispus, about 8 river miles of the lower Cispus before it reaches the reservoir.  All the rapids are reported to have relatively easy lines that make it a great training stretch for those new to class III.

TWIN CEDARS TO COPPER CANYON CREEK

This lower reach of the Cispus contains some interesting rapids, several of which rate class III, and starts about a mile upstream of the Iron Creek Campground. You can put-in here at the Twin Cedars access (river mile 9.2), The great thing about this section is all the rapids have relatively easy lines that make it a great training stretch for those just learning the sport. This is the class III run, about 8 river miles.

CAMP OUT

For those driving down on Saturday, several of us will be camping at one of the campgrounds along the lower Cispus.  Saturday we will explore the class II reach from FR28 Bridge to Twin Cedars. Sunday we will explore the class III reach from Twin Cedars to Copper Canyon Creek.

Details to follow once registration closes. We will likely meet at the Take Out in the morning.

To sign up for this trip you must be on the packrafting committee's Class III roster or obtain leader permission. If you don't know just ask. If you have done the Sauk, Silly Stilly, Nooksack Canyon, or Green River Gorge with me you are on that list.
