Cedar River: Landsberg to Lake Washington

Trip

Whitewater Packraft - Cedar River: Landsburg to Maple Valley

An active Class II river stretch and home of the annual Cedar River Slalom Race, a classic Seattle whitewater run that will keep you on your toes.

  • Class II River
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.5 mi

We will meet at the Maple Valley Boat Launch (aka Fred V. Habenicht Rotary Park) just below Dorre Don where the river flows under Highway 18, at 9:00 a.m..

At the Put-In at Landsburg Bridge, we will walk upriver about 500 feet and put in at the top of the slalom course.  We will do one or two optional runs down the slalom course, picking different lines, before heading down river.

There are many wood hazards on this stretch.

Cascadia Pizza at the take-out is delicious and a great place for some carbs after the paddle; there is a pedestrian bridge to get there without moving vehicles.

The Whitewater Packrafting Course badge, Whitewater Packrafting Course Student badge, or Leader permission is required to participate on this trip.  If you have any questions, please email the leader of the trip.   As with all river trips, this trip is contingent upon reasonable flow.

Details to follow once registration closes.
