Urban Walk - West Seattle Loop

We will follow the Alki Trail along the water front from Seacrest Park around Duwamish Head to near Alki Point then head east to Schmitz Preserve then to Hamilton Viewpoint and return to our starting point.

We will meet near the dock for the West Seattle Water Taxi at 8 am ready to hike. We will hike on the Alki Trail along the water front to near Alki Point with stunning views of Elliot Bay and Seattle. Along the way we will see the monument at the location where the Denny Party landed in 1851 and started the City of Seattle. We will see the lighthouse at Alki Point. Next we will head east to Schmitz Preserve to see an area never harvested for timber. Next we will head to Hamilton Viewpoint and return to the dock for the West Seattle Water Taxi.

The meeting point can be accessed by the Seattle Water Taxi, local busses and there is limited on street parking.
