This outing is a joint venture of Seattle Hiking/Urban Walks (a volunteer plans and leads the walk) and The Mountaineers Staff (staff manage the roster and assist on the walk). If you would like to join this hike after reading the description below, please contact staff member Bri Vanderlinden  (briv@mountaineers.org)

These  urban walks differ from other activities as they target goals based on member feedback:

  1. Support members  who have asked for assistance signing up for activities. This  includes members who have self-identified as people who find it difficult to use the website.
  2. Increase the number of conversation-paced mid-week outings for longtime members expressing interest in slower activities without the pressure of having to keep up with fast-paced hikers.
  3. Reach out to longtime members who have not participated in a Mountaineers activity in over a year and invite them to spend time with us outside.
  4. Provide a way for staff leadership to engage Mountaineers donors and longtime members to share information and receive feedback about the direction of the organization.

As we are supporting some members who rarely use their online account and have not yet signed their activity waiver, staff manage an offline waitlist. Please contact staff member Bri Vanderlinden if you'd like to be added to the list to receive early notification for staff coordinated activities. (briv@mountaineers.org)

Any open spots will become available one week before the activity (October 24) for all members interested in a slower-paced outing with Mountaineers staff present.
