Urban Walk - Kent Station, Mill Creek Canyon & Scenic Hill

From Kent Station we will walk south to and round Mill Creek Canyon Park to notice its interesting design and storm water retention features. From there we will walk up Reiten Road by a combination of sidewalk, shoulder and dirt trail to reach Scenic Hill Park. This is our turnaround point for snacks, water and a bathroom break. One the way down we will explore more of the interesting Scenic Hill neighborhood including Kent's oldest cemetery where some of the first settlers are buried and return to the Kent Station development via Kent's historic downtown.

We will have a 15 minute snacks/restroom break at Scenic Hill Park and we can have several shorter breaks along the way. I’m aiming for a 2 mph average moving speed. It will be a 5.5-mile round trip, 300ft elevation gain walk.  It’s part out-and-back and part loop. You will need to be in reasonably good shape to enjoy this trip. Let the leader know if you have any health or fitness concerns. We will keep together as a group and follow a drill to keep safe at all road crossings and when walking in traffic.

Meet ready to walk at 11:00am at Kent Station outside Panera, 521 2nd Place North in Kent. Ample parking and close to bus routes.  Public restrooms nearby.
