This urban night walk further explores Duwamish village or longhouse sites to celebrate Native American History Month.  The village of interest is Baba'kwob, first excavated in the 1970s. Initial findings were likely European settler fill from the Denny Hill lowering schemes.  Later, human remains were found in lower Belltown.

The Elliott Bay Trail is featured in Craig Romano's Urban Trails Seattle (#15, Mountaineers Books, 2018).  We're doing the parks portion as a loop walk, not the Elliott Bay Marina. Romano states:

"While the Elliott Bay Trail is part of a large network of interconnecting bike paths and routes used heavily by commuting cyclists, it should not be ignored by bipeds.  The best part of this path for walking and running is the middle 1.6 mile section through shore-hugging Myrtle Edwards and Centennial parks, which includes separate paths for bikes and pedestrians.  This section also adjoins the Olympic Sculpture Park, a wonderful place for walking and running as well as admiring some neat pieces of art."

Meet shortly before 6pm in Victor Steinbreuck Park, just north of Pike Place Market, corner of 2001 Western Ave and Virginia St. Market Parking is available and the area is well served by public transit.
