The 4.2 mile route follows pavement, dirt trails and wooden stairs through the  north meadow and down the stairs to the north beach.  From there we will follow the trail along the shore line southwest to the lighthouse and southeast to where the trail meets the paved road.   We  will follow the paved walkway along the road to the top of the bluff  and then follow the trail to the view points along the south bluff.  Then  we proceed along the south boundary up to where  the  fine old  homes  of the officers quarters are. This is where the best views are to be found.   From there we will make our way back to the  cars through a beautiful forest.  Some areas may be a little muddy after a rain so sturdy hiking shoes or boots are recommended.  There is a bathroom near the North Parking Lot, another near the base of the road to the top of the bluff and a sanican at the top of the bluff.  I never use poles on this walk but I see a few people using them.

Meet near the Southwest corner of the North Parking lot at 8:30am.
