Join us for a nice paddle out to Vendovi Island, by way of Jack Island. After meeting at Young's Park on Guemes Island at 9:30am the day of the paddle, we'll prep our boats, do introductions, have a beach talk, then head out promptly one hour later. The first leg of our trip will be a crossing to Jack Island, a little less than one nautical mile away. After checking out its shoreline from our boats, we'll make the ~1.6 nmi paddle over to Vendovi and work our way around the east side up to the harbor on the north end. After each of us have registered at the kiosk, we'll have lunch and then enjoy some hiking on the fine trails the island has to offer. We'll then make the ~1.8 nmi crossing back to Young's Park. I expect we will be off the water by 4pm or so.
Pack a lunch and bring water. If you plan to hike on Vendovi, plan on bringing shoes suitable for walking for about three miles on fairly flat trails.
Please note: the goal of this trip is to have a pleasant time paddling out to and visiting picturesque Vendovi Island. Tidal currents for the scheduled time of this trip are forecasted to be minimal and I will only issue a go for launch if the weather and wave conditions are forecasted to be favorable.

Participants: stay tuned for updates as the date approaches.
Meet at Young's Park on Guemes Island at 9:30am on Tuesday June 9th, 2026. We will launch promptly 1 hour later.
The Guemes Ferry leaves from DOWNTOWN Anacortes roughly at half hour intervals and the trip across the channel is very short. Carpooling reduces the number of cars needed and there is parking at the Anacortes landing for those who wish to double up. Check the ferry schedule in advance for schedule and fare info: Guemes Island Ferry
The drive from the Guemes landing to the park takes about 9 minutes. Here is information on our meeting place: Young's Park
