Sea Kayak - Tacoma Narrows
This is approximately 11 nm paddle from Owens Beach to Narrows Park and Back and is an easy to moderate paddle depending on weather and tide assist. We will launch from Owens Beach cross to Gig Harbor to Point Evens and fallow the shore to Narrows Park. Returning we will launch from Narrows Park and go under the middle of the Narrows bridge go up the Narrows to Point Defiance and Break. From there we will return to Owens Beach.

This will be an easy to moderate paddle depending on weather. Currents are are max flood of 2knt at 1200, slack at 230 pm and max ebb 3.4 knt at 648 pm. Sunset is at 554 pm. Owens beach closes 30 minutes after sunset.
We will meet at Owens beach at 1100 am and launch by noon. Return to Owens Beach should be by 430pm.
Required Equipment
These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
