Sea Kayak - Lake Washington

Snow in the hills isn’t great anyway. Dust off that kayak gear and wake up those kayak muscles. Join us for a paddle while Lake Washington is still quiet, before the crowds and speed boats show up.

Paddler must be a Basic Sea Kayak course graduate.  Students are welcome but this paddle may not count for graduation.  We may cover 8 nm.  The goal is to enjoy Lake Washington when it’s quiet, maybe see an eagle or two.  Bring a lunch, lots of water, the ten essentials, and the sea kayak eight essentials.  I will cancel if forecast winds exceed 15 knots.

Let’s meet at the Doris Cooper Houghton Beach Park (Kirkland) at 8 am.  Early meet up because the parking lot is not large.  Even though it’s still winter and it’s a weekday I’d like to not have parking as an issue.  If a paddler want’s to come a little later that’ll probably be fine.  According to the City of Kirkland website restrooms will not be available until March.  Plan accordingly.
